Problem with payment made. Question about

It appears that we can pay our bill and request release from our contract due to health or financial issues. Then pay the fees necessary to transfer the title at that point you will have the contract and title. We will have no further responsibility for payment and we have given you our unit with no monetary credit for us. In other words we just threw away thousands of dollars. Considering that we are elderly people living on a very tight budget that stinks,!

False promises made by company

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Beware of sales meetings! Sold us a story under pressure. Lifelong contract you get stuck in. Very hard to find a buyer to resell. Not worth much to resell even if you can find a buyer somehow. Fees go up and up on a regular basis. Made promises that didn't happen. Extra fees. Timeshare here was not worth the money. Hassled by the sales staff to upgrade and spend more money. Made out to be like it's an investment but it's not. No way out of it.

Definitely not I don’t trust the time sharing industry

Updated by user Oct 15, 2023

All vacation villages did was change the person who’s contacting us. Steer away from them they’re very convincing but legalized crooks. #notimeshares#novacationvillages#newareofthesmiles

Original review Sep 14, 2023
No amount of gifts could make up for the horrible way we were treated by the Vacation Village staff. They offered us free massages and a buffet voucher to attend a meeting where the sales representatives will blatantly lie to your face about what you will be signing up for.

They explained owning a timeshare was the same as investing in property, but it is not. You get NO money in return, and you are barely able to use it due to the lack of availability. They told us about all of these benefits that came with the purchase, and we have not been able to see any of it.
When we raised our concerns to their customer service department, they invited us to an owners workshop. We were so excited to finally learn how to use our timeshare and happy to see Vacation Village was putting in an effort to help us.

At the end of the day, it was another ploy to get us to upgrade. There was no workshop, only a room full of greedy salespeople. Vacation Village does not care what steps they have to take to get it, even if it is manipulating or blatantly lying to their customers.
When we sent a letter to their corporate office filing a complaint and requesting to cancel the contract, we were met with accusations of hiring a third party to handle our complaint.

Now they are side-stepping any accountability and just pointing fingers. If anyone at this company reads this review, you can be assured we wrote that letter and you can stick your accusations where the sun dont shine!

Negligent Staff

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Vacation Village Resorts - Negligent Staff

Late the night before we were to check out 12/22/2022 at Vacation Village in Weston FL, the man at the front desk, located across Weston in another building, gave our room key to a couple who body slammed our room door at 1AM in the morning to get it open with a key, because we had it latched from inside. They then entered our room and refused to leave until I picked up the phone to call the police.

They scared us to death. The police told us to report it to the front desk to alert security and make sure these people would not be back. Well, the man at the front desk wouldn't answer the phone for well over an hour. He evidently had turned all calls over to a recorded advertisement which played over and over.

So, if you have an emergency, no one will be able to help you other than calling the police. There was no way to have someone from security alerted with the man at the front desk ignoring calls that night. So, at 2AM, exhausted and scared to death that these people had keys to our room and would be back, I went to the front desk across town in my nightgown and robe. He (fist name starts w/an R) stated that they no longer had my room keys, and blamed the system for noting my room as available.

I asked him why he didn't call to make sure we were ok, and that we had been calling him for over an hour, and he claimed no calls had come in, and then he realized he had the phone turned to recordings. He refused to give us a later checkout time that day, being his negligence had kept us up for hours. He didn't seem to get how traumatizing this had been for myself and my husband being we are both handicapped and feared for our lives when these people exploded into our room in the wee hours of the morning. We talked w/his manager who wasn't very helpful.

She offered us $30 for the inconvenience??? In fact, I noticed my review didn't even appear on the RCI Weston Vacation Village at Bonaventure site, so evidently they've possibly intentionally tried to hide this event from public view.

This behavior all around is negligent. People need to be aware of security concerns & how badly staff behaved regarding this matter.

Disappointed and feeling taken advantage of

Vacation Village Resorts - Disappointed and feeling taken advantage of

We were looking for discounted tickets for shows while we were visiting Vegas. We were given tickets and a gift card upon completing the timeshare presentation.

We attended and were asked if we were interested, and at first, we said no. Then another person was brought over. They discounted the overall price and told us we could stay at different places, never paying more than 349 for a week's stay, and it has unlimited use. I thought there was a chance for my family to travel.

When trying to book a vacation, I am told I don't have any trade points and that it would cost me upwards of 800 dollars a week to stay in the chosen locations. When I tried to get additional information from the seller who said we could contact her with any questions. She did not return calls or texts. I don't see my family being able to use it.

The rental amounts are too high. Now I am worried about what else they lied about. The maintenance fees will become too much to afford after being told they won't increase. We have contacted the timeshare multiple times only to be told there isnt anything they can do, and they ask us to use our ownership.

We want to cancel this and get our money back. We should not have to deal with this to take a vacation.

Terrible Custom Service and Unclean Accommodation

Vacation Village Resorts - Terrible Custom Service and Unclean Accommodation
My family and I were guests at the Patriots Inn, Williamsburg VA for several days in August and September. This was not our first visit to this property. Wed been there previously and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We felt confident that this most recent stay at Patriots Inn would be comparable to our previous visits. We arrived on the evening of August 30, 2019, and after checking in, we were unable to get into our room because the door-lock was inoperable. Thankfully the front desk staffer was able to move us to another room. Unfortunately, the room was on the first level not on the second level (a bit more private and away from foot and car traffic) as our original room had been. That evening, after settling into the new room, I discovered a few things, (1) there was no hand/body soap; (2) there was a bug inside of the pull-out couch (so my daughter slept on top of the couch), and (3) the water in the reservoir of the toilet in the master bedroom often ran incessantly. The next morning, I spoke to the front desk clerk, the cleaning supervisor, and the manager. The manager told me the hand/body soap issue was hotel-wide and the result of an issue with the distributor. She also assured me that the bug inside of the pull-out couch would be removed. I was offered a 10% discount on my reservation as a goodwill gesture. That day, my family and I were out of our room for hours, ample time for staff to remove the bug and clean the bedding. Unfortunately, when we returned to the room later that evening, the bug was still on the bed. The entire experience at Patriots Inn was a huge disappointment, and we will not be going back to your hotel or recommending it to any of our friends. As of today, I have not received the 10% discount.

Misleading, fraudulent, and deceptive sales tactics

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
BEWARE !!!!! STAY AWAY!!! DO NOT TRUST ANYTHING THEY SAY!!! We were tricked into a few hours TIMESHARE presentation at this resort.!!! I regret we ever stayed there, from the first conversation at the front desk...ALL LIES !!! Their methods used to describe and sell the timeshare were misleading, fraudulent, and deceptive. We purchased the timeshare in December 2015, the sales rep. Mrs. Eileen Luyando told us many things that we found out later that she lied about. What we paid for isn't what we got. She purposefully lied to us through out the whole tour/presentation. We were continiously misguided and manipulated into signing legal documents. After hours of inacurate information given by the sales rep. we were too tired (especially our daughter), to question or look closely at pages and pages we were rushed to sign. We have written and called the timeshare company and they respond with the fact that we are past the rescission date and they take no resposibility over their employees actions. We were never told about the cancelation period. The sales rep. made sure we did not try to inquire about the claims she did for weeks. Insisting we should wait till we receive our membership packet. When we discover this is not what we paid for and wanted to get out, she told us to wait, because the resort will call us with offers to rent and that she will help us eventually sell the unit. ALL LIES !!!!! We were made us belive that we are buying an exclusive members-only, in high-demand, resort timeshare. In reality anyone can book Vacation Village at Parkway, Kissimmee, at travel sites for a fraction of the cost we are paying. Many times during the sell presentation she told us how valuable the timeshare was and that it was only going to be worth more. She told us when we bought it that the unit was worth twice what we are paying. There was going to be built a mickey shaped pool and an infinity pool. Also there is the expansion of Disney Star Wars theme park and it would greatly increase the value of the resort. The biggest lie was how she encouraged us to view the timeshare as a rental income opportunity. She told us over and over that the timeshare would pay for itself. She wrote and calculated a table how much money the timeshare will bring. She said that our week, Thanksgiving week, can bring $2400 for a one bedroom and we can get double for a two bedroom. We were leery about the deal still. We asked how hard it is to sell the timeshare. She told us not to worry. She told us specifically to wait until our membership cards came in the mail before we decided to do anything with the timeshare. She purposely misguided us because this caused us to miss the opportunity to uncover all inaccurate information. We can always call her because she knows people in real estate that deal in timeshare specifically; but why would we want to? We told her how complicated it seems and she assured us how she will help us. She told us that Vacation Villages will call us with offers to rent the week. Again she mentioned the amount of money this would bring in. We called at a later point in time and she said she didn’t remember us and didn’t return our calls when we asked for the name of the real estate person she told us about. AGAIN, We had no chance to think about the purchase or do research about what we were getting into. Polish is our native language and although we speak English fluently, the sales rep. and her manager took advantage that sometimes (with legal terminology, for instance) we don’t understand fully what is said. We were pressured and lied to !!!

I bought this time share almost two years ago.i got a vacation through a client she told me it not about buying so i called make a resavation i was told when i come i will be receving one hundred fifty dollers so we went me and my husband.we regester at the frount desk they gave us our room and told us we should meet in another building the next morning.so we did when i asked for the money they told me we have to do a presention first and we should go with this guy who drives the black hummer we went he said it will not take long but it lasted over three hrs the sale team lied to us.the sale team told us that we would be able to book a resort in jamaica and all over the world .But then later when i tried to book a resort in jamaica the people on the phone told me that there were no openings for over a year and even then we would have to pay over a $100 a day for food at the resort.this was not at all the impression given at the sale presention .the sale team lied to us.the sale team told me i could rent the time share for profit but we have never been able to do so.when we were they with the sale team they tried they best to get me to buy i kept saying no until the sale person got up and go call the big boss he came he did even to offer a gold card to me it worth nothing. Finally we gave up we went to settlement witn sandra Richards she told us we cancle in seven days we tried call left messages for her to call no return call .finally i call they told me she no longer worked for the company.when i phoned i get passed around .they have all lied .the sale team told us that the timeshare would be great investment for the future implying that it was going to increased in value over time.we now know that people buy timeshares for $1 on ebay.the sale team lied to us .they said we could deed it to our families so in that way it would be an investement property for them we now know the timeshare is worthless again they lied.finally the sake team subjected both of us to a high pressure sale pitch .they originally said that we did not have to buy any thing .but it was very fast and very confusing we said we would leave and come back but the sale team said no and buy now i felt that we could not leave the presentation without purchasing the timeshare we did not wantthis in the first place and in any case we did not receive what was shown to us.we could never book what we wanted and we can see no prospect that this will change.we are fed up with your lies and deceptions, and we want out.

Vacation Village Resorts - Bookvip Vacation Package Review from Weston, Florida

Vacation Village Resorts - Bookvip Vacation Package Review from Weston, Florida
Vacation Village Resorts - Bookvip Vacation Package Review from Weston, Florida - Image 2
Every one who books a room with book vip needs to know you will not be staying in the "nice owners condos", rather they put you in the old building, the rooms are old, furniture is horrid!! I had to cover the couch with a sheet because it smelled so bad and made me itchy. I went to use the extra blanket that was in the closet and God only knows when the last time it was washed, it to smelled bad! You do not get a balcony, just a standard bathroom with a regular tub and shower, no big nice tub with jets as shown in there pics, no dish washer. It's basically a nasty hotel room with a bedroom in it. And the only window in the "condo" is in the bedroom. Also, having to go to the welcome center several miles from the "resort" to get your voucher in order to keep the "good rate" was rediculous!! Especially when there is a welcome center on property. Ended up costing me way more for the taxi!!! I don't for the life of me understand, if you are trying to sell me a piece of your resort why wouldn't you let us experience a nice stay there in a room that at least resembles what you are selling?? Why would you put us in these nasty rooms???!!! Extremely disappointed!! Yes I did request another room but was put in the same thing.
